Walking In The Light

I absolutely love these passages because they have to do with our response toward God.  One of the words we don’t use very much is the word acclaim.  It means to praise, give enthusiastic approval, and give recognition to one who deserves it.  Let’s acclaim what God has done for us enthusiastically!  He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness, he has redeemed our life from the pit, he has lavishly poured out his love toward his children, and so much more.  I’m sure we could journal pages upon pages of things he has even done personally on our behalf.  Take time today to jot down even a few things he has done for you and rejoice and tell Him how great He is.

When we know Christ we can walk confidently in the light of His beautiful presence. “God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.”  1 John 1:5  How do we live and walk in the light?  We do this by bringing anything in us that is sin which is in the darkness into His marvelous light.  This could be a habit that is bad for us, an attitude of the heart toward someone else, or sinful, destructive behavior.  Take a moment to dwell on your life right now.  Are you walking fully in the light or are you walking in the shadows of darkness.

The last thing I would like to remark on is celebrating God’s righteousness!  How can we be about this in our day to day lives?  We celebrate a lot of things like Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Mothers and Fathers Day.  I have to be honest with you celebrating God’s righteousness isn’t one that I focus on a regular basis.  Righteousness is the “quality of being true or just.”  So we can rejoice and let God know we are grateful that He is truth and He is just in all His ways.

I would challenge you to look up scriptures about truth and justice.  Some scriptures I would like to highlight are Ps 11:7, Ps 89:14, & Ps 25:5.  See His faithful ways and celebrate God for them. He is great and worthy to be praised and celebrated!
